Did you unhook your MAP/BAP sensor from vacuum source when you converted? It should be unhooked and left open to work with the MAF. Also check the ground at the back of the motor on the drivers side cylinder head to see if it is connected or loose. It is the ground for the injector harness but the O2 ground is there as well. Does the car run rich? The stalling sounds like a IAC problem, but the popping may be timing or a rich condition.

it sounds like your O2 sensors are going bad to me. i just checked mine today and found that they were bad. The way to check them is to unplug them and start the car and if the car runs better then your problem is the O2 sensors. i was have that same problem with the beginning startup but as soon as it warmed up it was fine. i hop that helps
