Default electric choke adjustments....

Just installed an electric choke on my carb, but was wondering exactly how you adjust it so it opens and closes at the right time and temperature. For instance to adjust it would i let the car warm up fully and then turn the housing until it wide open? Would that then allow it to close the right amount when its hot? I was playing around with it, but i cant see to get it, so any help would eb greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you loosen the screws and rotate it to the left or right... one way increases tension and one decreases.. depending on if you want it to open slower or faster on cold days..slower for winter.. faster for summer

You want to adjust it when cold. Loosen the screws, rotate the choke stat counter clockwise. Open the throttle like you are setting the choke to start. The butterfly should snap shut. Here's the tricky part, you want just enough tension on the butterfly for it to close completely, but not too much so it doesn't open all the way. You'll most likely have to set it a couple times to get it right if you've never fooled w/ one before. Once it's warmed up, the butterfly should be in a vertical position.
