Default Muffler choice?

I just got my car back on the road agian and Im thinking about gettingeither flowmasters, Borla'sor magnaflow mufflers installed this weekend.

As far as sound andperformancegoes what would be my best choice? and would they bolt on to the original pipes?

Im looking for a pretty loud intimidating sound.

Car is a completley stock 1990 Mustang 5.0 coupe with AOD.

I would go to an exhaust shop/speed shop around your area and ask what is out there that counts as a muffler I know my buddy has something on his truck that looks like a high flow cat converter but counts as a muffler and that thing is ungodly loud.

What ever you do don't get flowmasters. I have them on my car and I plan on swapping them out and trashing them. Their a dimea dozen on mustangs and don't provide the bark im looking for out the back. If you really want an intimidating sound go for an o/r h pipe and some shorty headers too.

Honestly, Magnaflows and Borlas are the bane of my existance. I can't stand their exhaust note. Neither of them are loud IMO, so they're out of the question.

Flowmasters, hands down.

borla or flowmaster, i have flows on mine and i love them... they are common, but sound so good i really don't care....

also if you don't have headers or a mid pipe, i suggest you get one to really get the sound you are looking for

Right now just looking to get mufflers later on i'll work on the exhaust.

Im trying to keep it street legal aswell.

Would I able to use the stock pipes with the flows or would I have to switch?

Are the 2 chmaber 40 series flowmaster my best bet for sound?

Thanks to everyone for there input.
