Default info on GTP heads and headers

figure i let ppl in on this. as some know i have GTP heads for my build up. ok today i finally started missing with my old motor setup. i took off the headers to see they would work on my new heads. from what ppl are saying i would have issues. while this is the end result. my headers are BBK shorty unequal. i have no clearance issues with the plug holes. all plugs will be fine. now with plug wires most of them can use a straight boot but on a few i will need a 45* boot. so ill basically just buy all 45* boot wires. i figure i would pass this info on to others in my situation. now heres an interesting thing for ppl to know. BBK shorties are cheaply chromed my headers are now all rusty. i will have them sand blasted and then ceramic coated for a few bucks. i did also notice how restritive they are. if you look at the port its agood size to a point but the welds they used on the insides have alot of room to be smoothed out with. there is about 3/16th of material on each side of the opening from weld build up. to fix this i will be porting them to flow along with my new ported heads. now with porting the inside of these headers the welds will become thinner. so i recomend runing a few new beads along the outside since bbk only ran a small bead on the top and bottom of each flange. mine will be welded completely around. but for some watch out with warpage. to do this properly bolt down the header and run yoru beads. now i would recomend welding every other tube for heat displacment to you get all of them finished up.
