Default Harmonic Balancer Problems!

I finally figured out why my car has been running like ***! F**king balancer is spun about 30 degrees! Heres a list of what my problems are (were when I fire it up in the morning)

1. Hooking up the vac advance cause it to pop and backfire and lope really bad.
2. Plugs are black as hell.
3. I get flames out of the EGR ports on the heads (forgot they were even there).
4. Headers were glowing.
5. Idled better at 30 degrees then it did at 10 degrees. (with the advance off)

I stabbed it mutliple times to see if it was my fault and finally got tired of it so I pulled off the timing cover to make sure the marks were aligned properly and they were. When I lined them up my rotor was sitting on the plug before the one that is supposed to fire. I put the balancer back on to find out that when it is acually at 0 degrees TDC the mark is on the 30 deg mark. So when it came around to the 0 mark it was firing when the exhaust was opening. So that lowered my compression when combusting (BLACK PLUGS), shot flames out the EGR ports, and when the the vac advance was added it just wanted to kill itself.

I can't wait to wake up and start it up to hear it run like it is supposed to!!! Now I just have to get a new balancer so I don't break anything.

Yea I know. But I also need that flywheel to get my c4 in the car to be able to drive it.I know the balancer is more important so I don't harm the engine but I am getting ready to move and I don't really want to TRY and push my car up the driveway to get it into its new home lol. Its only like a 5 minute drive so it won't really harm the motor more than I did when I first started it to realize there was not oil pressure[&:]because there wasn't a oil pump shaft installed. I don't know why but there wasn't one when I bought the motor. Ooo well 302's are a dime a dozen and I need a roller motor anyway (will be a 351) I am sick of the pre83 firing order and parts lol.

i guess its time to get some sleep so I can get that baby fired up in the morning when my duaghter isn't sleeping.

Well for an update I got the damn thing to idle without trying to melt the headers. I still have to check the plugs to see how they are doing now. I had to play with the dizzy from one tooth to another and back again to get it to idle correctly. What I heard about this motor having very little vaccum is true cause it was pulling about 8 or 9 inches (damn cam). I am gonna play with the idle A/F mix screws tomorrow to try and bring the vac up at idle.

The screwed up thing is I was able to put the vac advance on with no problems at idle or when I push the gas to quickly rev it a little but when I just barly hit it the thing back fires and stumbles still. Gonna check the vac readings tomorrow during all of this after I geta new temp gauge cause mine doesn't work anymore[:@]. Had to stop because it was the little cutie's above bed time.
