Default is this hard to do or stupid...

i hate my stock exhaust but dont want to pay like $300 for a cat-back system. cant i just get some flowmaster mufflers and cut my old ones off and replace with the new flowmasters and just use those clamps? does it not work that way? will the pipes fit into each other?

WTF can i do?

Or should i just suck it up and pay the damn money for a good system?

You never know until you try, these cars aren't like underneath trucks, there isn't much room to play with. You'd need slightly longer flowmaster mufflers so it can work, and it can also be a crap shoot.

weld in some mufflers and dump them. then all you need is an o/r x or h-pipe.
it will look like this:

go to an exhaust shop get a price on, new pipe from the headers to mufflers with turn downs, mine was only 100$ including installation, so i have a "custom o/r h pipe then welded in my flows and the welded on some turndowns"

dont run dumps!!!!!they sound good but you do loose performance from them. you can get 2.25 diameter flows and get a extender pipe and put htem in place. i had a buddy do that. he ran that for a few years. but remember you are nickle and diming. and cat backs are like 200s that i seen
