Tremec or World Class T-5?
 

My tranny is going out. I'm gonna replace it real soon, but should i go with the World Class T-5 or the Tremec. I've heard some bad things about the Tremec, and nothing but good about the T-5.

To give an idea about my car since i don't have any info posted yet. It's an 86 gt with a 347 and 6 psi blower. Trick flow upper and lower, aluminum heads, msd ignition, 90 mm mass air, 75mm throttle body, 30lb injectors, and much much more.

So Tremec or T-5? What y'all think?

What's a good site to look at the tremecs then? Only place I found decent pricing is jegs and summit.

Plus what about bolting up the tremec. Bellhousing, Crossmember, and other issues. Notto mention i heard tremec doesn't back uptheir product.

It's just a street car never been to the tracks, think the T-5 would hold up?

Money is somewhat of an issue, but wouldn't mind saving longer if that means doing it right. But! is the tremec really worth 800 dollars more?

Go with the TKO 600, It's only a few bucks more than the 500. You will need a 26 spline cluch, bell housing and some minor grinding on cross member.

Where do you pick up the TKO 600. Do you have one? And how do you like it? I did say it's just a street car but jamming through gears is always fun. not to mention blowing the doors off hondas.

Yes i have one. I love it and have never had a problem with it. I bought mine slightly used. Just google the tranny and you can find the prices. I Believe they are about $1900 new.

I have the TKO 500 and am more than happy with it.

You obviously wouldn't miss with the TKO 600 either.

pick either...they are the same thing

tremec t5 = borg-warner t5 , and all t5's in a 5.0 from 1985 and newer are world class

easier choice now ????

id personally go with a street/streep c4 trans. there cheap, reliable, and easy to work on. i got a guy who sells these for real cheap and they handle from 600-??? hp. i got a c6 from him and not a problem in about 4 years. i know its an automatic, but just get the automanual and its like a 3 speed with no clutch. i believe its more efficiant then bangin through all those gears. well thats just me.:D
