Default Holley 4bbl to C4 kickdown question

I have a Holley 650 carb and I do not have a kickdown linkage going to my C4. I was wondering a couple things. first, where exactly on the carb and tranny respectively is the linkage supposed to attach. Also, is there any place I could buy one, or a way I could make one myself. (I'm pretty good and pullin a McGiver) Thanks for your help!

When I used C4s in the past I rarely hooked the thing up.
The tranny would down shift without it or if it did not I could do it manually.

I know it's not absolutely necessary, but the tranny doesn't seem to want to downshift as is. I can do it manually if I want, but kinda wanted to make it work like it's supposed to. ;-)

Hit the junkyards and study the different types used over the years. Pick one that you think you could rig to the Holley.

Go to summit's website and get a Lokar Kickdown cable. There SHOULD be a lever on the same shaft as the shifter lever on the trans. And I think the Lokar piece comes with the stuff to link it to the carb. You should get one so you don't burn up the trans.

What will it do to the trans if I don't have one?
