I have never done motor mounts, but from what I have read its not that hard, and tranny mounts are even easier

my buddy did motor mounts and the tranny was easy but the motor mounts are harder because its a really small area to fit your hand and a wrench into to loosen the bolts.

As for using a jack to lift engine, what type of jack should i get, because i don't have one yet. What size of a wooden block would be good to place on top of jack?

i just jack it up from the transmission witha floor jack you can pick one up cheap at sears. you dont need a huge for this job. make sure when doint the motor mounts that you only do one side at a time to make it easier on you self
