Default real quick question......10 or 12 degrees for stock 302?

What mark should the timing light read on the harmonic balancer?

Stock timing is 10 degrees. Bump that chit up to 13-14 though!

if you bump it to 13-14, you'll most likely have to run premium fuel.

best is to run 87 octane on 12* if you can...read the plugs and power tune it at the track by mph

advancing timing makes hp, higher octane loses hp , so going high then using premium you might not need....negates the whole works

but stock is 10* to answer your question.... 10* btdc not 10* atdc

10-0 is atdc 0-20 is btdc

10 degrees is stock and bump from there to where it won't ping/detonate at 14 degrees you may have to run premium fuel
