Can someone tell me what the factory rear end was in th 83 mustang?

7.5 inch!! if you wanna swap to a 8.8 it's pretty much a direct bolt in 7.5 was up to 85

Were you talking about the size of the rear or the size of the gears? If rear, look ^^^^. If gear size, than check your door tag under AX. I know thats how its listed for 87-93's, don't see why it would be any different in your case.
