i just put mine back in today. I had the whole tank out while i put in a new fuel pump and put back in the rear housing for more room. To pull out the gromit and put in the new one is pure cake. Its of course alot easier to do without gas in it.... mine still had alot in and i spilt almost a half gallon. didnt think i had that much.
I think the neck goes into the tank like 2 or 3 inches i think. so you might have to drop the tank alittle. Trust me its easy. It was my first time too
