Go w/ 42's, a blow thru mass air from p-mass and upgrade the fuel pump to a 255 pump for a blower application. Then get a custom tune.

the thread could have ended there.

If you want to make full use of forced induction on a 302 I'd go 42lbers
lol that is true

LOl yeah but peeps gotta instill the point!!

I3atR!ce, the motor being stock makes NO difference. Mine is bone stock, Bolt ons only and I needed to run 42's. I had 30's, they just weren't enough. I'm actually speaking from experience, not just some random thought.

So long story short..... those 19lbs are holdin me back... correct??? Now if i wanted a mild street motor would i need to go any bigger than #30 lb. I know your all pretty set on 42lb but somethin tells me that might be over kill for my setup. I may be wrong . You guys definatly know your 5.0's. If i pick up a set up 30 lbs , what exactly am i going to need to go with it. (what could i get away with). When you say "tune" are you talking about with a programmer??? Thanks guys .

yes 19 not enough, 30 would be suffice...but the cost of injector and a mass air system isnt cheap, buy bigger like 42 calibrate mass air meter to the injectors and u will be fine..go with 255 in tank. fuel pressure 42 -45...so if one day u through more boost or some head and intake u know u will have enough fuel...better to be rich and lean out then run lean! far as a tune, have it dyno'd some guys say invest in a programmer. i on the other hand had a speed shop burnt a custom chip exactly to what i need and plugged it into my stock computer.. they can always reprogram it later..

http://www.suttonhp.com/store/item.a...ARTMENT_ID=296

thats what i did..so if u are not sure of what and how to properly tune ur car leave it to the pros, u can get a hand held and be confused and still have to bring it to them..the chip is simple...

BY THE WAY IF YOU REALLY WANT 30'S I'LL SELL YOU A SET THEY WERE USED FOR A MONTH AND I FOUND THE 42 WERE THE SMARTER THING TO DO...I ALSO HAVE A MASS AIR METER FOR THEM TOO.... LET ME KNOW

DanCam if you want to go 30#'s you CAN....then run an FMU but only if you have no future plans ofupgrading heads cam ever....otherwise just get the 42# so you buy them "once" and get a chip burned.....listen to Pro50 his car runs hard......

I dont need my car to run like PRO50 i just dont want i running lean. I'm content with little or no horsepower gains as long as my car aint running lean. Now if I go with 30lb injectors and a calibrated mass air for the 30lbs , do i still have to get a custom tune or can i run it as is.....Thanks guys your really save my a$$.

You won't need a custom tune. You will need to run an FMU though. You should still have it dynoed to see where the a/f is though. You should also run an external pump to help w/ fuel pressure.

If your air/fuel gauge is narrow band it is near worthless, only good for the purty lights.
