Transmission being funky
Ok, so recently I posted with a problem regarding the 1990 5.0 automatic I've got where the gears wouldnt engage properly. They were being slippy and slow.
Now a new strange phenomenon has occured. The reverse gear doesnt work. I put it into reverse and it stays put like its in park (cant be pushed or anything) and when you press the gas, the rpms max out at about 2000 with no response from the wheels. In N, OD, D, and 1, the car thinks its in drive and will only go forward. So it cant be pushed in N either. I cant get my car out of my parking spot...and its really frustrating and embarassing.
I thought to look at the connection under the shifter, but when in reverse, the white taillights still come on, so im pretty sure the connection is ok. Anyone know what I should do? Or how much this might cost me?
