Default wiring help!

im in the process of putting my car back together and its time for the wiring. i have a 90 4cyl and im putting my motor into it. i bought the computer and efi and injector harness of a 90 v8. do i need to change my 4cyl dash harness. and how can i double check that my harness will work before i put the dash all back together?

I just went through this whole process, yes, you have to change the dash harness. My gauges and such would not work until I did the harness swap. Car should run fine after the swap. Not sure about checking before install, I switched mine and it ran fine.

It has been my understanding that you did NOT need to swap the dash harness....only the engine harness?

Hey Mjr, is this true? Do you need to swap the dash harness as well? Can understand why, I know you have to swap dash guages, but why the wiring.

87-93 fox dashes should all be the same plugs. When i did my conversion i changed it anyways its work and all but i knew it would work for a fact and i had the whole car stripped anyways, the only thing that may differ is your steering colum plugs, but im not 100 percent on this i never did an auto swap but as for manual trans swaps you should be all set. my conversion was a 92 in to an 87 the only differance there is the air bag plugs thats it...

I would think its the same, if anything swap a V8 cluster into it so you have the right tach
