Im going to build a 331 stroker. My block is ready and Im ordering my crank kit Friday. Im going to us patriot heads with a lunati cam. My question is what rockers would be best to use? which pushrods? Heres the cam specs. http://www.jegs.com/i/Lunati/638/61003LK/10002/-1

you'll need to measure for correct pushrod length, you'll need an adjustable pushrod to do so, as for rockers my COMP cams pro magnum 1.6's work great

Why spend all that money on a stroker, then scimp and get subpar heads.

Either way, just like primetime5.0said, the Comp Cams ProMagnums are good and you will need tomeasurefor the correct pushrod length with an adjustable pushrod and solid lifter or hyd. lifter converted to solid.

if you run guide plates run a hardened push rods, and i recomend running guide plates if your running a higher lift cam because you will be running stiffer then stock springs, bent pushrods can be a disaster

Heres the thing....I ran a set of Comp Cams ProMagnums 1.6's and for the longest time I had this ticking/tapping sound all across the board....did a million different things to resolve issue...finally got so pissed pulled the motor out and its sitting on my garage floor....I spoke to a tech at Holly (heads Im running dont ask why) and they said some heads "prefer" to run a certain Rockers.....so if you buy Patriot heads ask them if they recommend a certain rocker...then buy that one....dont know what my issue was maybe retainer clearance issue or some crap? Or I just suck....LOL

Good advice. I run guide plates on my engine.

Guide plates will not keep pushrods from bending. The guide plate has nothing to do with the spring pressure, guide plates are required to run on stud mount (rocker) heads to keep the rocker located.

Did you ever check pushrod length and rocker geometry?

I have used ProMagnums on several engines and different heads and have never had this problem.
