Whats in the oil?
I was changing my oil the other day and when I was putting the new oil in there was some sort of substance that looked like butter around the top of the hole. I cleaned all that I saw but I'm curious about what it could be and the cause. Any ideas?

I was told that it was condensation by a couple of techs at my ford dealership. I noticed it on my 02gt and my friends 03 dakota 4.7. Haven't seen it on the 93 yet. It might be a coincidence but I seem to see it more with a synthetic blend oil than a conventional. I just check it and clean it out every week or so. Hasn't seemed to hurt anything yet.
