Water Pump and Timing Cover install ??

Water Pump and Timing Cover install ??
O.K. i have installed the timing cover and water pump, but I am beginning to think I fell short some...here is what I did.
1.) I was reading one of my Mustang books and it said to put RTV sealer around the water jacket areas on the timing cover, but not the rest of the gasket. That is what I did. right or wrong???
2.) What bolts if any need RTV because of going through the water jacket areas on the timing cover??
3.) I read some where to use high tack sealant or RTV sealant on the water pump gasket. I used the Permatex High Tack on the entire gasket on the pump side and also just around the water jacket areas in the timing cover side of the water pump gasket. right or wrong??
4.) Are there any bolts on the pump that needs sealer??
Thanks for the info!!

RE: Water Pump and Timing Cover install ??
1) Thats fine
2) None really, but some people recommend coating them with something -anti seize, oil, bolt prep, teflon thread sealer. None go through any water jackets or such, but if the gaskets don't seal properly - you can get coolant in the bolt areas that can cause corrosion and stuck bolts
3) What ever works - I installed mine dry except around the water ports on the plate to timing cover gasket. I left the plate to pump gasket dry.
4) It wont hurt them if you did, but may help in the long run.

none of the bolts go into water jackets and I usually use permatex" the right stuff" aon the complete gasket all the way around and have never had a leak in doing such
