when I changed to 3.73's I used the 23 tooth steeda one and it was white.
it may be just for 5 speeds though.

is ur first gear REALLY steep, mine seems pretty steep, but 2nd is good

Should I go one tooth higher or lower? I have the purple speedo gear now and my speedometer is about 5MPH to fast. Should i go with the orange one which is one tooth less then the purple one or should I go with the white one which is two teeth more than the purple one? Any and all help is appreciated!!

if you want to slow your speedo down...get the one with one more tooth to lower the ratio

all you gotta do is count the number of teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear you took out and then divide the ring by the pinion and you will get the gear ratio you had in there which I bet was a 2.73 which is what I had in my auto '88.
and you might not be able to get any closer than 5 mph to being right on the speedo, so why bother if you know how much it's off now.

my car's speedo reads 42 at actual 35, 66 at actual 55 and 79 at actual 65. that's all ya need to know man. lol. just get used to ur speedo and it'll be fine. (i'm cheap and don't spend money unless 100% necessary) plus my motors got about 200k on it, so the odometer doesn't bother me either lol. it turns 1.35 miles per 1 actual mile
