Default check out my spark plug fireing order - need help

hey guys, i have a question about spark plug fireing order. in the tech guide section i found the correct fireing order for the spark plugs. however i check my engine today and its completely different, see the diagram below. how can this be, also if their just backwards, should i swap number 3 and 5. the engine feels a little off and i think its bc of this.

this is mine

and this should be the correct order

someone installed your distributor off a tooth or two, and instead of taking it out and re-stabbing it correctly, they just moved the wires

Being a tooth off affects the firing order????
WTF???

You are fuel injected.... what efi ecu did you use????

The firing order is specified 2 places....
Camshaft
ecu (injector firing order)

I take it you checked the firing order of the cam?????????
What ecu are you using????????
What is the firing order of the cam????????

being a tooth off affects it cause you won't be able to get the proper advance out of the dizzy before housing hits intake stopping advance..therefore if you were a few teeth off..all you would have to do is move all wires in order on the cap down or up a few pins to correct prob..although this will work..it's not the correct solution to prob...on a sefi car it's important to stab the dizzy correctly to keep injector firing in order to proper cylinder

the only thing that I could tel you about that would be if you were running a non HO ecm, or a non HO cam... realistically, you need to take the car apart a bit to figure out what it really has

ok, i have some questions in regards to timing also. which will relate to this as well.

i hooked up a timing light and there is one mark on the balancer but i dont know what degree's that is. anyway when i shoot the timing light, the mark is on the left side of the pointer. is this retarded or advanced?

also should i try advancing it with this weird spark plug order i have or try restabbing the distributor first.

any suggestions. i started a post about timing in some other thread, but i cant find it. lol

you need to clean the rust off the balancer and look for the timing degree marks.....= 0, 10, 20 , 30 btdc.......and turn dizzy until the pointer lines up with correct base timing

To the left is advanced.
You must check thei initial timing with the spout plug disconnected on an EFI set-up. If not it will; show way high like 20 or more from the advance added by the ECM.

Swap 4&5 and see if it runs better. The worst you will get will be a little backfiring if they are wrong.
