why do alot of parts for 5.0's just for 86-93 I thought whatever can go on an 86 can go on my 82. Are they still compatible I really just wanna know if some loudmouthswil fit on my 82 even though they say 86-93 iput a 5.0 302 h.o from a 85 in my 82.

the whole set up is different on the 82's, now u might be able to put loudmouths on, but im gonna say its gonna involve alot of time of making fittings. U should really try goin with and off road x pipe with flowmaster 40 series, that will rumble ur 82, srry that im not to much help, but im as puzzled as u when most parts come only for 86-93, the fuel injection period is still in and carb is not

ok heres the problem 86+ use a true duel exhaust system, to use 86+ parts you'll need 86+ headers, midpipe, and catback PLUS a dual hump tranny crossmember

after that try and stay with 86 GT or 87-93 LX exhaust systems as 87-93 GTs had ugly turn down tips

you can use 86 and up exhaust parts on your 82...just get what 865.0 said above and it'll work

This is the correct answer. You can use the entire late model exhaust, all you need is the double hump crossmember andtrans/pipe hanger bracket.
