Default Stock alternator and q's on gauges

Hey guys,

I have a 1986 Mustang Gt and i've heard the stock alternator for these cars weren't so good. Are they worth replacing in a DD? Or will the stock one hold its own?

And i'm not sure how well some of my stock gauges work(mainly the status gauges, my tach and speedo work fine). How can I test them and if they don't work, how hard are they to fix?

Thanks,
Tony

Unless your running a sound system, dont bother upgrading it, but I would replace the wiring harness on the alternator, known for fires.

You will know if your guages are not bad
