Default oil level/oil pressure drops/ticking noise wtf?

so my car runs awesome, yet sometimes after i drive it for about a month my oil pressure will start to drop below 10PSI. most of the time it stays above 20 and nevers goes more than liek 60. well randomly it drops pressure to around 10 or a little less and it starts to tick a little bit. obviously i dont have enough pressure. if i rev it up the pressure builds up as it should. if i add oil this all goes away. so every month or so i have to keep adding oil. what do you thin is going on? let me know guys thanks

Does it burn/leak oil do you have any pan modifications done or a high volume pump? you may be sucking the pan dry with lower oil amounts.

Your car is using oil. Welcome to the world of used cars. Just keep an eye on the oil level, the ticking noise is a really bad sign. Don't let it keep doing that unless you want to rebuild the motor soon.

The source of the ticking, you will need to replace these if the needle bearings are hurt.
If you find pieces of small cylinder shaped metal rolls in the oil pan, when removed, your camshaft will need to be replaced, as one of the lifters damaged a lobe.

Your Crankshaft scorned from low oil, and age. Crank needs turned $80-90.

10psi will eventually be zero in a few months, until you rev it up.

Your Bearing Compared to how it should be. New set of oversized main and rod bearings$ 80

Your crank ground and polished, ready to give you that full bearing contact and excellent oil pressure, for many years to come.

The possible cause of oil burning and being low, bad rings. the size is 1.5 ,1.5, 4.0

my old '93 with about 170k on it had about 20 psi oil pressure at idle warm.

My friend told me to try some lucas as it may fill in the small clearances in the crank... It worked!

Oil pressure was at 50 psi warm, and about 60 psi cold.

Original, beat to death motor.

Lucas Oil Stabalizer, $7 at autozone. Replaces 1 quart. For the rest I used Castrol GTX HM 10w-40.

That works and Cylinder Restore as far as bad rings. I have used both when I didnt have the time or cash to go through a basic overhaul.
