Default Rebuild?

I am looking at buying an 88 mustang gt, but there is one problem with the car. He says that he thinks it needs a rebuild because in higher rpm's the oil pressure drops off, but at lower rpm's its fine. My thought was that it is the oil pump that needs replaced, but i am not sure. The motor has 117,000 miles on it. Any help is appreciated.

depends... I HAVE A old 77 rollback that does that...mains are a little worn = looses pressure when taking up r's......run a mech test before condeming motor

Default RE: Rebuild?

do a compression check, see what it reads...if its low then a rebuild would be a good idea. 110psi at lowest, i wouldnt want it unless it has 125psi+ (unless u wanted to rebuild it) (the psi figures might be off from what others think, brandnew motors, depending on ring gap, can be from 150-220psi)
