Scan tool unable to connect to computer

Scan tool unable to connect to computer
I have a 1995 Cobra, and the dealer tried to connect their scan tool to my car and they were not able to read any codes or have their tool read anything from the ECU. They also checked all the fuses which are all good.
Any ideas? They said the next step is to trace wiring and etc which would take lots of hours and money.
The car runs great, have no issues with it at all. Engine is 100% stock, no mods.
The only thing that is weird is the temp gauge goes to max about every other time i drive (car isnt overheating though), and the oil pressure gauge is always pegged high. Not sure if its related to the ECU.
Nonetheless, any ideas on why the scan tool wont connect to my ECU?

RE: Scan tool unable to connect to computer
Your 95 likely doesn't have a bus running to the data link connector. The government didn't mandate a universal connector and communication protocol until 96. Find the trapezoidal connector under the dash under your steering wheel and look at the wire terminals. Starting at the top from left to right is 1 through 8. The bottom from left to right is 9 through 16. If there are no pins (little metal recepticle deals) in 2and 10 - the scan tool won't connect.

Load test from the cluster to the sender with a 1157 bulb if the circuit will light a bulb check for possible rfi concerns Alt,plugs or wires that are breaking down if all is good suspect a cluster concern
As far as the no com issue its normal to have the doghouse terminals with a ton of corrosion causing the scan tool not to talk

WHAT INE F ARE ALL YOU all TALKING ABOUT????.........YOUR sn-95 has an obd II connector but it is not wired the same harnesses were used for the v-6 maodels which were obd II compliant but the 5.0's were still obd I if the dealer tech was a youngin and tried to plug into the obd II connector cause he was inexperienced with older cars then that explains the issue..and the obd I connector is not under the steering wheel...it's out under the hood on sn-95's like foxes and is house shapped usually by the master cylinder on on the passanger side in the same area.. can't remember which side but it's there and a koeo/koer test has to be run to pull codes unless the scan tool has the ability to check memory or history codes...gauranteed the tech plugged into the wrong connector

RE: Scan tool unable to connect to computer
Comp issue was due to one of the connector wires being bad at the base of the connector under the hood. Wasnt to hard to spot and fix.
Still working on the temp and oil gauge issues. Ill post when i figure it out.
Thank you for all the help and replies.
