Yeah, Frams are total garbage. Not much filter material, weak spring, weak anti drainback valve, weak case, the pleat in the filter media is pathetic. K&N and Mobil 1 are basically the same thing, high dollar synthetic media. I use Napa Gold(Wix), Motorcraft is good as well.

WAL-MART super -tech ftw!!!!!st8a for those who wanna run out and get one.....my 81 jetta uses ford filters and I have used the wal-mart one for the last 100000 miles..but never on my mustangs!!!

If I'm not mistaken, Motorcrafts have a double check to avoid drainback. A co-worker was having ticking troubles with his 351 F-150 ticking. Changed the filter to a motorcraft and cured the problem.
