battery to block, heads to firewall......starter case?? could be any of the three.....a simple sest light can be very useful in such cases and or a multimeter to test for voltage drops

when you go to start the car turing the key like your starting it what do you hear, do you hear one click..or nothing...if nothing it would more than likely be the ground from the head to the firewall seems to be the common problem area... need more info

i had a similar problem like that and i just bypassed my neutral safety switch...

You say you just changed the starter solenoid? Did you put the small ignition wire back on the correct terminal and make sure it is grounded? What happens if you cross the terminals on the solenoid with a screwdriver? Have you tried starting the car this way? More importantly, why did you replace the solenoid?

If I was missing any of these grounds, wouldn't I not have power to anything? I have power to everything, but the starter isn't doing anything. I haven't put 12v straight to the starter wire yet so I'll try that when I get up.

ok, I'm real stumped. Theres no ground specifically for this fender moutn relay is there?

I have positive on 1 big terminal, starter on other big, then ignition on the small post. Nothing happens. I have power through. I can put 12v directly to the terminal with the starter wire on it, and she cranks ( ruling out a bad wire to the starter or bad starter or ground.)

Why will this relay not switch power to the starter by way of 12v to the ignition switch post?

ok I think I figured it out. I was not aware that the relay get's it's ground by being mounted to the fender, so I guess that would explain it as I don't have it bolted in.
