RE: ok so i went and bought a code reader
wish i had them at my walmart. i got my at a parts store and cost me $35.
so found the hook-up and ran the tests. now i gotta dig out my book to see what all they are. got a bunch of em. i dont like the way the instructions have the code list setup so ill use my haynes manual.
koeo codes: 18,31,63,66,87,91,96
koer codes:23,91,33,13,74,40
does it look like im in trouble?
stupid question time though. is it possible for the reader to reset the computer or something? reason i ask is because i done a koeo test early this morning just to see how the thing works. the book says engine needs to be at operating temp for it to be correct so i decided to go grab some breakfast then come back and check the codes. well while i was driving i noticed its operating smoother. i even had a consistant idle right at 1100 rpm. my mustang hasnt idled good since i got it. it will die on me if i dont give it some gas when im at a redlight. this morning it was like a different car.

the engine felt it when you plugged in that code reader and it's worried now that you are going to be doing surgery on it so it decided to start behaving in hopes you will leave it alone! LOL

Hey guys,
how much options can you get from an OBD-I reader. Is Jarhead's model about all you need?
Are there other ones that have more options? I'm looking into buying one. But I need just the OBD-I
because my Stang is only a one off. I'll stick to Euro cars for daily driving I think. Plus I may switch to FAST
engine management or similar in the future. And in that case I think the computer would come with
it's own software right?
What I'm trying to get at is to just know if Jarhead's model is about all you need for OBD-I, or do some have
more options.
