Yes, when the 90's first came out, they changed a few things... They decided to get rid of the center armrest. There was alot of complains about it not being there so they brought it back about mid year.
It's interesting because it drives people crazy if the armrest isn't there. I assume that is the reason all the Mustang part sellers allways have the delete kits as Ford wanted to get rid of the ones they weren't going to ever use.
Also, just some of the changes in 90 were lack of a gas door release switch, lack of an EQ for the premium sound, an aluminum spare wheel, a bit less padding under the carpet/panels in the rear for wieght reduction.
90 was the first to have an airbag, so they changed some things because of that, including no tilt wheel, and the got rid of the idiot lights in the dash bezel, but moved them into the cluster, but left out the low fuel light. Also changed the AC control *****.
There may be a few other things I can't think of off the top of my head.

Sweet. I can confirm no release switch for gas door and hatch. Factory cluster and stereo are long gone.....lack of tilt wheel sucks but I manage.....
Someonemay have ordered mine. LX V8 with power lumbar, windows, mirrors, locks, premium seats white on black.
I don't see a lot of similarly equipped vehicles. Usually the LX hasthe four banger seats and manual something.

90 was also the first year they offered the "sport" seating package for LX's withthe 5.0's. LX's were offered with all the goodies when they had a V8. But before 90, LX's with V8's had the standard cloth seats and standard door panel fabrics. Only GT's had the sport seating then.
And also the bolster on the front seats changed and got smaller headrests.
Front fenders and skirts changed in 91 to accomodate the 16" pony wheel (just had to add that in there)

mine is a 91LX and i changed my interior to black carpet, headliner, sunvisors, and grey tweed seats. with black dash and pretty much everything. i kept my LX light grey seatbelts tho just to add some contrast. but back to the matter. i had a console delete in mine when i bought it. since mine is an auto i like to lean on something so i bought a black one.

i am about 99% certain of this....
the 891/2 and 90 that would cover the "25th" anniv had no armrest
my '90 gt didn't have it either, i was told the cars w/ 25 years badge were all that way (also when they got the 140 speedos)
