No actually the only reason the e passes is because of the carb number. I will pass with the B if I tell the guy its stock cam. he wont look for the carb number, so it B for me.
I thought they put the sniffer in the tailpipe and that is what determines pass/fail. We don't have testing here in VA where I live.
Changing the cam out would be a lot of work if it fails the test.

I just talked to a good friend of mine and he said that the B will pass, there is only a slight difference between the B and the E. But yea the E... thats the only reason why it passes is because of the Carb numbers. The b will pass if you tell the guy its a stock cam.

yea well i have the fcam i should have thought about smog before i bought my cam and other nonsmog legal parts if it doesnt pass smog here in CA o well looks like ill just have to register the car in mexico and drive around with a yellow license plate.

and what about this i hear about some cams you can oly use with an 5 spd maual tranny. i dont under stand about that

I think that's only a recommendation, not an absolute must do thing. The cam has no idea what trans is behind the engine IMO.
