Man, no matter how many hints I throw at all my friends, they STILL don't realize that perfect gifts for me will be anything to do with my car. I'm still getting lame gifts like shirts, cologne, and gift certificates to restaurants I don't like...

Anyway, I'm waiting until I get everything set up in my car, then getting myself FRPP gears, going to try to install it myself, a lot of measuring and shimming should get it done right.

ya, i dont think its important to torque it, just go by fell
So you don't think it's important to torque down that bolt huh? How much fun do you think it will be to try and drill it out if you snap it off by overtorqueing it?? don't pay attention to people who say you don't need to use a torque wrench, they are flat out wrong!
BTW, the torque spec on that pinion shaft lock bolt is 15-30 ft-lbs and you need to use some red Locktite on it also, that's what it says in my factory shop manual.

Just lock the carrier with a prybar or screwdrver, and tighten her up good. You notice that blue stuff on the bolt? Yeah, that's loc-tite, so it ain't going to come loose on you. It's getting the old one out that you should really be worrying about, bobby.
