i finished my engine rebuild today got it all together and pushed it outside for the initial start up put the key in started it and it cranked just like i had drove it an hour ago everything was perfect then i checked oil pressure and it was great and it was hitting on all cylinders but i kind of acted lazy when i gave it throttle so after running for a few minutes i cut it off and am going to play with the timing a little and the tps well i moved the timing just a little and tried to start it back and nothing it just turned over and wouldnt start so i put the distributor back like it was and did it again still nothing wouldnt start!
fuel pressure is at 32 psi
all vaccum lines are hooked up
tps voltage is .92 volts
i have spark from the coil
i did put new injectors and a calibrated maf for the 30# inj
car now has gt40 iron heads
also it now has 1.7 rr without shims could the rocker arms be holding the valves open it also has the stock pushrods i was going to take the 1.7's back off and put the stock rocker arms to eliminate that possibility what do you guys think??????

start with the basics..check for fuel and check for spark...spray some ether in it and see if it'll fire up..if not check for spark

it has spark i checked that and it also is getting fuel

I see that you have fuel pressure and fire from the coil butis there fire tothe plugs?

agreed^^^^ the coil may be sparking but check for fire at the plugs. cap and rotor good? pull the plugs out and see if they are covered with fuel

yesto fire at plugs,i put the cap and rotor in about a month and a half ago they are almost brand new and the car ran fine before and i did pull a few plugs and they were not fouled out

do you have injector pulse??

i didn't check the injector pulse but, when the car is turning over i can pump the gas like a carb. and i can smell gas

i just don't get it the car ran and it just sounded like it needed the timing adjusted a little and when i cut it off it wouldnt start back
