Default torquing flywheel....

the manual that i have says the torque specs for the flywheel is 75-85 ft/lbs. i was going to torque them to 80, but the flywheel would rotate. i tried preventing that from happening by putting a prybar in the flywheel tooth and it would still rotate. maybe i'm putting the pry bar wrong, but is there another way to torque these bolts down? would it be okay if i just ran them down with an impact gun, on a low medium setting?

you can put another wrench on the bolt on the front of the crankshaft and hold this to keep the flywheel from turning.
I would not use an impact wrench as you want equal torque loading on all the bolts.

They make a flywheel wrench to hold it in place while tourqing. you might be able to borrow or rent one from an auto parts store.

crap, looks like I need to get that tool also. In a few months time I'll be doing a tranny conversion on my Mustang to get a T-5 in it... Wish me luck guys, lol.

I forgot to mention you should use some red Locktite on those flywheel bolts when you torque them down too.
