Default Need a few tips

Ok, I have a 1995 mustang, Mods listed in my sig. I have had a problem with it idleing ever since the hci, i know its mostly from the cam but is there anyway i can get it to stop surging right after start up? It goes from about 800 to 1400 and ends up killing it self until the check engine light comes on. I am wanting to go to the strip but dont want to go with a car that wont idle at the line. Any ideas on how to fix it besides getting it tuned right now. I just bought a truck and dont have 1000 to dump in a tune for a car that i drive on the weekends normally around town and the track once or twice. I was thinking the tps? I had heard that would help smooth out the idle.

If i am reading what you wrote correctly then the idle surge stops once the check engine light comes on?

Yes, and the car will idle but in order for the check engine light to come on i usually have to try and drive the car for 10 min.

You could try and reset the TPS to the right voltage or buy a new one. But alot of it is because your computer is a POS. Probably the biggest downfall to the 94-95 GT's. A tune is probably what is gonna have to be done to fix it.
