well i don't think i have enough money to stroke it. i have maybe close to a grand for parts and labor to do the bottom end, what do you think i should do? i wanna see around 350 rwhp roughly.

iff you want 350 rwhp..your gonna need a well thought out combo..but since you already order the trick flow kit....rwhp will be around 270-280 and a dyno tune may help raise that a little and the 75 shot should help you come really close to your goal... but as far as the bottom end goes..take it to a machine shop and see if it'll need a crank clean up/polish or a bore or just a hone.. they'll be able to tell you exactly what is reccommended...but you should be able to easily freshen up the bottom end for 1000 and for added strength I'd add a main cap girdle

since i'm just learning how everything works i decided to go with a kit. (trickflow). i got buddys that know how to do this type of work but they were bullshi^ing on exactly i needed. if i did throw a 331 stroker on there where would that put me on rwhp. whats a good kit and how much labor for the machining and the kit would i be looking at? and i would probably have to get a different cam? right?

I just had a 347 short block built by fordstrokers.com...check them out for prices= good......and you'd really need to rethink your top end combo for a stroker.. that kit is for a 3o2 and will produce 302 power.. you'll need better heads and cam and intake for a good stroker set up and rwhp can put you over 350 easy with right pick of parts

just check summit out.. trw makes inexpensive forged ones.. if your budget is 1000 then you'll have to stick very basic as a decent set of forged pistons can run 450 to 600

well i'm pretty sure the machine work at one local shop will cost around 400. i might be wrong but i think this includes turning the crank, boring it out and blue print, and shaving down the side were the heads hit, i don't remember what thats called. so exactly what will i need for parts. i know the piston and rings kit. what about rods? is this it? sorry like i previously stated i'm still learning. i'm a hands on learner so when i do the work with my buddies i should definitely have it figured out. should i bore it .30 over or .40? thanks

.030 is standard and you'll need a complete gasket kit and oil pump and cam if you decide to swap at this time..new timing chain....and once machine shop determines it needs a bore of .030...then buy pistons so they can match bore to pistons and matching rings to pistons and you can reuse your stock rods...and can have them reconditioned if desired
