i think you can make more w/ a 307 if properly ported. it isn't all displacement, if you can do more work for the same dollar in a smaller stroked motor.....then do it.
you will see greater gains by doing better port work (i didn't say more...i said better) than going bigger cubes.
yes i agree if setup exactly then of course.....bigger power on the 347
but some prefer to go 327 or 331 due the heating issues w/ 347's

I ran low 12's with my 347, it aint never overheated with a STOCK THERMOSTAT, and I was pounding her hard.
Some cars have issues bored .060 with heat, but a 160, will act as a 180 in this situation.
