its well worth it for the stickyness of the tire. and the longest I have had a set of those tires last driving around the weekends and racing fridays, is about 3500kms.

So please explain how a staging rev limiter is bad. You set it to say 4k and it stays there until you launch. The 2 stage rev limiters have one limiter for launching and the other for over rev protection. It is the easiest and best way to attain consistent launches. Kinda like an electronic line lock. To each their own...most of the higher end ignition boxes have them or are those ricey too?

I have an MSD 6AL so I can limit it with a chip at any rpm I choose but I don't, I just keep the 6000rpm limit in because it resembles most to stock. It's not a matter of it being ricey, I hangout with guys who do rice work and I help them they are well engineered cars. If you set your rev limiter for around 3000rpms (if you're running radials that is) your shutting down alot of your systems for fuel management and ignition timing that just isn't healthy for an older ford built car, the cars computer can adapt to certain things like I know guys who don't believe in tunes and believe in letting the computer adapt itself (I think that's just dumb but whatever floats your boat). If you really want to keep a consistant launch and are that worried about getting the perfect rpm I'd simply buy 2 different colored shift lights and install them above my steering wheel, one that engauges at 3000rpms and the other engauges at 3100rpms(or choose whatever rpm you like with a difference of 100 rpms), keep the rev going so the first light is lit and you know your pushing too much if your second light is lit, saves your engine and computer curves and will get you a successful launch.
