Default how to clean T5 parts for prep?

so i got two T5's one from a 93 notch and the other a 96 v6, all most of the internals are the same but a few little differences, I'm going to rebuild a tranny using both of these donnor trans b/c both of them have problems, I have them both dissasembled and now looking to create anew, but i'm not sure what type of solution I should use for cleaning of parts, a friend told me mineral spirits, but not sure if he is correct, and does anyone know any good T5 rebuild kits? the secrno's look to be in pretty good shape, but since this is my first rebuild I'm thinking about just replacing everything that comes in a overhaul kit.

thanks!
Mitchell

Use carb cleaner or brake/parts cleaner on the pieces. Or if you have access to a parts washer use that. Heres a helpful rebuild guide...

And a place that sells a good rebuild kit

Seriously!!!! THANK YOU!

Those sites are priceless,

I've used parts cleaners and carb cleaners but it usually comesdown to elbow grease..
Replace everything you can with all new parts (just a good idea) you're not gonna save any money using used Synchs

make it clean, and stay organized
