question about starter and air comp/impact
ok so the other day i tried removing the starter to replace it without moving the exhaust manifold ect.
i was able to reach it with 2 extensions on an air ratchet that operates at 80psi max. it wouldnt break the top bolt loose so i'm assuming its realllllllly on there tight. do multiple extension cause loss of torque which would make it so its having a hard time breaking the start bolt loose????
if i go back and remove the exhaust manifold and use an impact should it come off no prob? im just asking from work and i dont know how hard those things are torqued in there, i also dont want to have to play around with it for an hour when i get home.

RE: question about starter and air comp/impact
yes you do somewhat lose torque but just because its an impact you will break it lose. Theres been many things that my 135 psi compressor can't break that I have been able to. Try to get it from under neath and if you can double wrench it or put a wrench on it and try hitting it with a hammer. If you have access to a propane torch heat up the bell housing and it will come out easierPROMISE!
