Default Gauges are going crazy!!

So ive been having some problems with my taillight lately. I checked the fuses and everything and determined that its either a lose wire or the headlight switch is bad. Well i take the whole dash apart to put this in but couldnt get to it. I put the whole dash back together, and see that my taillight work. Figures that always happens. But the issue hit when i turned the lights on. As soon as i activate the lights my RPM's shoot to 1000 my engine temp goes through the roof and the battery gauge reads like 9 volts almost in the red. All the other gauges are fine any help would really be appreciated thanks

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere. Check all your grounds, fire wall, battery to engine and battery to engine bay.

I didn't think you had to pull the dash for the head light switch, try disconnecting the head light switch to see if you have short or some type of cross talk.

I have to teach a friend how to ride a bike but can take pictures later if you need.

No prob here you go.

On the left side of the switch use couple of flat heads to press those two tabs down and pull it forward, the right side tabs compress when you pull so it should just come out.
