well i mighta f***** up! the 2nd plate on my waterpump 1 out of the 2 bolts that hold it in place is stripped but i still put it together because i was pissed off, i wonder if it will leak?

It might. Water pumps are not that expensive though. I used the copper coating stuff in the rattle can whenever I do water pumps and thermostats. I have the same extra holes and thought the same thing for a little while till I got to looking at pics of other peoples engines.

and reinstall all bolts and the ones you are missing

He's not missing them.

dime had the same issue and ended up filling them up with JB weld.




Some standard rotation 80's ford wp's had these extra bolts that go into the timing cover. The same timing cover was used over the years for both standard and reverse rotaion pumps, and these holes don't get used, but shouldn't leak.

ok cool wlell im wating for the RTV to dry now but im thinking that the water pump plate might leak now with only 1 bolt holding the button? any thoughts! lol+

Try it and see what happens. If it does, go buy a new one. If you are that worried about the leak. Go buy a new one anyway. Or try and fix what you stripped.
