Default Will it hold or not??

I am going to put on either GT-40P or Edelbrock RPM performer head and a E-303 cam and an Edelbrock RPM performer intake on my 1984 Carb. 5.0 should the stock block and pistons hold up? the motor was rebuild 50,000 ago. please let me know

The stock bottom end will hold up just fine on H/C/I. The stock block can take about 500hp at the fly.

awesome man thanks for the info. One more question for you. Should i just go ahead and replace the rod and main seals just to be safe when i do the H/C/I?

if the oil pressure is normal & the seals are not leaking it should be o k.

I would use a new front seal when you change the cam but if the engine is still in the car, I wouldn't worry about the rear main seal.

ok well the oil pressure is fine the only problem is that the intake seal is leaking but that will be fixed when i do all the work.
