hey guys i need some help here i have a 92 GT .....so yesterday i drove home from work and everything on my car was working good. later that night i left my house to go out and my voltmeter started to just rise up all the way to the max on the guage which is like 18v . and the battery light kept coming on. i would turn on myblower motor and the headlights and thevoltage would drop back down to the normal area. but if i turned off the blower and the headlights the voltage would jump back up to 18vand the battery light would keep coming on. this morning i went out to my car and it was dead i had to jump it to get it to start. i drove to class and it was normal again the voltagew was right and there were no problems
HELP PLEASE i dont need any more problems lol

Go have the alt tested.

probably need a new alternator, its probably the regulator but i think 92s are internally regulated. charging at 18 volts most likely damaged your battery also. even with your problem fixed your battery probably wont hold a good charge anymore

i just bought a brand new alt last week

From where, take it back. As stated above, the regulator probably stuck wide open.

thanx guys i took the alt back to the store andthey said the voltage reg was bad. so they just gave me a new one free
