Default longtube question

I'm getting ready to install a set of BBK longtubes on my 93 and I need to know if the O2 sensor extensions are needed. It's been about 10 years since I put a set on my 89 andI can't remember if I used them. Also should I get a set of locking header bolts or just retighten them once and a while.
