Default will an 88 T5 work in 84 5liter?

title states the question, i know that the older cars have a smaller clutch, but will the older engine work with the new tranny?

I have done this, it can be done! You will need the correct bell housing, clutch assembly, flywheel. Of course my car did not have a 5 speed so if you have a 5 speed you won't need the bell housing or flywheel.

yeah, she's a slip and slide aod currently, im looking to do some autocross so i want the 5 gear, thanks for the imput!
