It could be the balancer. like others said if you have a lobey cam, that coud make a difference.

i just cant see it being the harmonic balancer bc its not missing any pieces and its not cracked. and its not like a horrible shake. and it only does it at idle it doesnt shake or miss or anything when you drive.

get the harmonic balancer issue out of your head.. most likely not as a bad balancer/ spun on the rubber partiallywould cause resonance through out the entire rpm range not just at idle...a slightly rough idle and only present the prob at idle could be a result of a vaccum leak... check for vaccum leaks first

Most likely cracked rubber motor mounts, or bolts loose.

A 5.0 stock, idles very smooth, no shakes, unless you have a vacumm leak, misfire, motor mounts, or just plain age. If performance is not affected, ignore it

my 2nd mustang had a little shake in the motor but it was caused by the K&N air filter that screwed in to place on the r/s valve cover creating a vacume leak I could unscrew it and cover it with my hand and the motor would stop shaking and idle 100% better

by the way i probablly should have said that i do not have the egr hooked up. and i have checked for vac leaks minus the vac lines underneath the intake manifold. also does anyone know how to get the hanging idle to stop?
