5 quarts = 4.73 liters if the dealershipis putting in 5 liters, then find another dealership.

Evidently, some 5.0s have incorrect dipsticks. I know this because I own one of them, and have heard of a few others with the same issue. When I drain both sumps and put in five quarts, the oil level is about a half to 3/4 of an inch above the full line. I fixed the problem by carving a line into the dipstick where the actual full mark is. Now every time I change my oil, it comes up to that mark exactly. When I first bought my car, I thought the oil had been overfilled, and had the shop I bought it from drain it down to the full mark on the stick. Little did I know that it actually wasn't overfilled at all.

While I'm at it, I have a sarcastic question. Why would anyone read the specification for 5 quarts of 10w30 in their 5.0, and put in 6 or 7 quarts of...say...10w40? I never understand that logic when I encounter it. I recently had a quick lube change my oil because I'm injured. I stood there and watched the guy read that the motortakes five quarts, so I left him to his business. When he was done, I checked my dipstick, just for giggles...and it was overfilled. I asked him why, and he told me that he had put in 6 quarts. I reminded him that he had just read that the specification was 5 quarts, and asked what would possess him to put in 6, to which he replied, "thought I'd give you a little extra." WTF!!!!

when you put a new filter on with your oil changed(which you should always do) after your 5qts start it for 30sec's shut it down for 1min. the new filter will fill up.and check it. i would kill that guy who "gave you a little extra" lol

If you're able, next time, change your own oil. Then you'll know for sure where the full mark is. After that, you can hand it over to retards for oil changes if you want to...but at least you'll know when they've overfilled the bitch.

As ive posted before i only take one plug out my oil pan all the times i changed it and it still needed 5 quarts to fill it all up. Definitly dont need more than 5 in any case with a stock pan.

Stock holds 5 quarts. The owners manual states that it is normal for the oil level to be 1/2 inch above the full mark after an oil change. The manual also states that once the oil level drops below the full mark do not top up past the full mark. This is out of the manual that came with my 89 5.0 coupe.
