Default rpm gauge reading incorrect

i got the black to ground, red to 12 switch, and green to green coil wire. it could be at 6000 rpm and it will read 2000. a buddy told me it might run on 6 volts because he doesnt think the tach is for a car cause i found it in my garage. no brand either its a small 2 1/2inch.

i like shift lights better..... it's pretty much the only rpm thats important. as long as your stocker isn't broke.

plus you don't even have to look at it...bright enuff to catch out of the corner of your eye...i like a 5200 chip..by the time you actually hit the shift your about 5500 and it runs really well.

no need for a bracket either....a strip of velcro on the steering wheel base will keep it there good.
