Some of those seem conservative, while others seem like too much, but I'm thinking about just doing basic exhaust/intake (no/little head or intake manifold work) and I'm thinking about 300hp or so. I'd imagine you would have at least 350hp, but you have to remember that engines lose hp as they age, so it depends how many miles are on your engine now. Mine has...I think 60k, and after cold air intake and ac/smog removal, I think its safe to estimate that I'm back up to 225 or so.

Most likely the best thing to do is downsize those numbers so if you are wrong, you have a good chance of having more hp than you actually do. Might be embarrassing to say you have 430hp and take it on a dyno and be getting "only" 360 or somethign like that.

However, this is just an "educated" guess, so we need to wait and see what the other people say. But if it does make 400+hp, get some nice drifting/burnout videos.


Oh and other things you might want to look into are MSD, #24 injectors and maf tuned to #24 and an electric fan (supposed to free up 3-6hp).

yea i forgot to add the electric fan, and i do wana change everything to msd but i didn't that would hp so i didn't add it in the list, and the moter will get a complete rebuild thats why at the bottem i said the 331 stroker kit

lol, idk how much hp any of that is worth and thats why i asked my question so i could find out how much it might be worth

Its alright, those are just estimates that are common. Estimates as in + or - a bit of hp.

As far as I know, MSD does add hp, because of its multiple/big spark, the bigger/more spark(s) make sure more fuel is burn. And we all know more fuel burnt = more hp and lower emissions (as opposed to just letting the fuel passthough the engine like harleys).

One other thing is that the size of the MAF does not matter really (as long as its bigger than the tb and equal/smaller than the tubing going to it and most likely equal or larger than the tubing after it). If this is confusing, all I mean to say is have your intake wide and stay the same width or get smaller, do not have it get bigger as it gets close to your engine, because it is limited by that which is in front of it.

Heh, I almost sound like I know what I am talking about. Just realize that most of what I say is picked up here and there, but most of it is just me thinking about this kind of stuff logically; however we had a discussion about the maf and tb, that that is what we cam up with, have your intake get smaller as it approaches the engine...unless you have a blower/turbo or something, then just ram all the air you can in there.

On a higher hp engine (350rwhp+), the electric fan can give u up to 15-20 hp @5500rpm.

since you dont think it will get to that much hp, how much you think it would, also what else would i want to get it to at least there

My guess is around 350-375 hp, your headers are hurting a bit, go with equal length long tubes if you can. Plus you say a port and polish job on the heads, but make sure it is done by somebody who knows what they are doing, it is very easy to mess up a port job and kill your hp. A better bet for heads may be to find a set of AFR's, by the time you do all that work to the GT-40's you will be very close to the cost of the AFR's.
