SPEEDOMETER IS LOUD?
MY SPEEDOMETER IS REALY LOUD WHEN I DRIVE (OBVIOSLY). DO YOU THINK ITS THE SPEEDO CABLE, OR THE ACTUAL GUAGE ITSELF? I THINK ITS THE GUAGE, OR AT LEAST IM HOPING.
ANYONE HAVE OR HAD A SIMILAR PROB. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX

RE: SPEEDOMETER IS LOUD?
Do you still have the 85 MPH cluster in your car? If so, now would be an excellent time to replace with a 140. Since you'll be taking the dash apart either way!
If you do have the 140, pull it out, and make sure the cable is tight on the back of the cluster, you can also pull your cluster out, and drive around the block with the cable unhooked. if the noise is still there, you'll know its the cable. Just make sure you dont let the cable drop into the back of your dash when you are driving!

RE: SPEEDOMETER IS LOUD?
It's most likely the cable. It sounds like a sqeaking or scraping., and gets louder when it gets colder out. Very common among higher mileage Mustangs. Either get a cable greaser and grease the cable from the tranny up, or take out the cluster and detach the cable and spray some white grease down there then follow it up with some oil, then some more white grease. This will help the white grease to travel down to the problem area, which is usually where the cable passes the exhaust system.
